Cadillac Has Changed The Logo On All Its Cars

Cadillac is in the midst of a resurgence, and the debut of the gorgeous ATS Coupe at the Detroit Auto Show today makes its future look even brighter.

At the reveal, GM's luxury brand made another, less spectacular announcement: It's changing its logo. The new look was first shown in August on the Elmiraj concept, and now we know it will be on all new cars starting mid-2014.

The wreath is gone, and the crest is lower and wider. "Sleek and streamlined," Cadillac says, just like its current lineup.

“This new Crest matches the lower, longer, leaner mantra of our current car designs," Andrew Smith, Cadillac's executive design director, said in a press release. The crown last seen before the 2000 redesign has not reappeared — no need to look cocky.

Female Final Year Benue University Student Dies In Hotel Room

21-year-old final year female student of the Benue State University, BSU, Joan Adaaku, has been reportedly found dead in a hotel room located in the heart of Makurdi, the Benue State capital.

Sources who preferred anonymity told Vanguard that the Economics undergraduate had checked into Savannah Guest House at about 7 a.m after paying N2,000 for a room.

According to the source, “She actually arrived the hotel alone and after underaking some check-in formalities she entered the room and locked herself up.“She never came out of her room again either to ask for food or any other things.

So, at exactly 6 p.m, a room attendant knocked on her door to find out if she was interest in being attended to by room service.“Her silence aroused suspicion and the room attendant, who repeated his call to the room at 8pm without reply, alerted the manager on duty.“It was at that point that the management alerted the Police who moved in and broke into the room and discovered the lifeless body of the lady in a position that suggested she was making a call before her death.

Vanguard gathered that the deceased had on her a small purse which contained a Bible, rosary and N8,200. A bottle of water and a bottle of soft drink were also discovered in the room.Benue State Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent, DSP, Daniel Ezeala confirmed the incident, and said investigation into the matter had commenced.

Redeemers University Gives Final Year Students Extra Year For Not Attending Church For One Sunday!

Let me start by introducing RUN ……..Redeemers University of Nigeria. At RUN,they pay half a million every year for school fees…. a fee that most church members cannot even afford and some of the students who are there,their parents struggle to make sure their kids get the best of the four years they spend their,students in other Universities are rendered redundant because of the ASUU issue blah blah… ..so RUN it is for the majority.

Info reaching me indicates that a female student amongst others is/are to be punished by being sent to rehab because she/they missed going to church on Sunday!

Rehab at RUN is a place where the offender will go for six months without attending classes and the full school fees will STILL be paid, after the offender is done, he/she will repeat the class and pay another fees. …Lobatan! Personally i feel this is a RIP OFF. but i asked a question ” why did these student not attend church”?

The answer i got was simple! ” they all have very genuine reasons,the girl came up with menstrual pain that morning and couldn’t make it. now Stella the girl in question is a final year student who her parents are very glad that the struggle of half a million per term is over. only for them to be told they will have extra year at the university . which means extra 500k which is separate from all the pocket money and other fees which when calculated in totality come up to N1m- N1.5m ”

I feel this is very unfair for a school that preaches CHRISTIANITY. these students where not caught with drugs, porn, or having sex etc,their only crime was that they did not attend church. now the question is, does the punishment fit the crime?

Is Pastor Adeboye aware of all these sanctions being carried out in his premises and is he  party to it? Because it is alleged that the lecturers and the CSO of the school ‘CLAIM” these instructions come from him.  This is just a few amongst many other stories that happen in that premises that need to be brought to the forefront.According to info reaching me,the idea to send these students to Rehab allegedly came up today and the affected students were informed today to wait till next week Monday to get the final verdict on their cases.Please somebody should get this to the attention of Pastor Adeboye,I am sure he has no idea of what is going on at RUN….This is so unfair!

Inventor Of AK-47 Rifle Mikhail Kalashnikov Dies At 94

Mikhail Kalashnikov, the designer of fabled AK-47 automatic rifle, has died. He was 94. Russia’s ITAR-TASS news agency reported the news on Monday, citing the office of the presidency in the Udmurtia region where he worked. “It is difficult and sad to realize that Mikhail Kalashnikov is no longer with us. We have lost one of the most talented, memorable and committed patriots of Russia, who served his country throughout his life,” said the statement from the press secretary of the Udmurtia administration Viktor Chulkov. Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed “deep condolences” over the death of the engineer. Kalashnikov who continued working well into his nineties, had been suffering from heart and intestinal problems, and on November 17 was admitted been in intensive care in Izhevsk – where the plant that produces the eponymous rifles is located. The official cause of death will be revealed following a mandatory autopsy. A public funeral will be organized by the regional administration, in consultation with surviving relatives, though no date has been named so far. Kalashnikov designed a weapon that became synonymous with killing on a sometimes indiscriminate scale but was seen in the Soviet Union as a national hero and symbol of Moscow’s proud military past. Born November 10, 1919, Kalashnikov was most famous for developing the AK-47, AKM, and AK-74 assault rifles. During his career, he designed about 150 models of small weapons. Kalashnikov married Ekaterina Viktorovna Moiseyeva who died in 1977 aged 56. She was an engineer and did much technical drawing work for her husband. They had four children: daughters Nelli, 71, Elena, 65 and Natalya, who died at 30, and a son Victor, 71. Victor also became a prominent small arms designer. Bus Conductor Beaten To Death By A Soldier Over Transport Fare

An unidentified soldier, yesterday morning allegedly beat a bus conductor (names unknown) to death at Obalende in Lagos, for insisting that the soldier who boarded his vehicle must pay his fare.

According to reports, the unidentified danfo driver with vehicle number LSD 451 XG was pounced on by the soldier who was in a mufti following a heated argument over transport fare.

Eyewitnesses say the man had accompanied his wife to the park at Obalende to get a bus to her destination.

Within a moment, the late conductor and the woman, exchanged hot words over transport fare.

That made the unformed man to react. He lost his temper and kept beating the guy, until he died,” one account said.

He was said to have dragged the deceased, raining blows on his head, stomach and chest.
On noticing he had given up the ghost, the soldier, it was learnt, attempted to run but commuters and passersby who witnessed the beating arrested him and told him to carry the corpse to the hospital.

Sensing that the soldier was about to be mobbed, a policeman at the scene phoned his colleagues at the Kam Selem Police Divisional Headquarters, Moloney Street and four police patrol vehicles with policemen arrived the scene.
A detachment of armed soldiers from nearby Dodan Barracks also arrived the scene to prevent the culprit from being killed by the mob.

The soldiers took away their colleague and the corpse to their barracks after dispersing hundreds of people asking for the soldier’s blood.

Former Miss Venezuela Mónica Spear Killed In Attempted Robbery!

Mónica Spear, a former Miss Venezuela and up-and-coming TV star was killed in an attempted robbery, according to police!

The 29-year-old was on vacation with her ex-husband Thomas Henry Berry and their 5-year-old daughter, Maya. The family was driving along the Puerto Cabello-Valencia highway in Venezuela when their car crashed!

Officials believe both Mónica and Thomas were shot to death by unknown gunmen while Maya watched! The little girl survived but was shot in the leg!

Unbelievable how heinous of a crime this is!

Mónica had been living in Miami recently and is a 2004 graduate of the University of Central Florida.

Her father, Rafael spoke about the tragedy of losing his daughter, saying:

"This is a great loss for us. She was very charismatic, a very good daughter, a very good mother and she loved Venezuela."

Our hearts go out to the families and friends of Mónica and Thomas. We can only hope the assailants who did this are tracked down and brought

 to justice!

11:40 AM PT -- Sources close to 50 Cent tell KRS, he removed the photos from Instagram because he personally felt that posting the child's face online might compromise his safety.

50 Cent thought twice about posting photos of his new baby boy on the Internet -- because moments after he loaded his Instagram with pics of his 16-month-old son ... he deleted them ... or tried to.

Fiddy posted the pics yesterday of Sire Jackson -- born 9/1/12 -- along with a bunch of funny captions. He even posted a side by side photo of Sire and himself to show the father-son resemblance.

For some reason, 50 then deleted the photos roughly an hour after posting them, but not before one of his followers saved them ... and leaked them back online.

As we reported, the rapper was charged with a series of crimes last fall -- including domestic violence and vandalism -- after a blowout fight with Sire's mom. The domestic violence charge was ultimately dropped.

Sire is Fiddy's second child. He also has a 16-year-old son named Marquise Jackson with another woman.

Rapper Young Jeezy was arrested in Atlanta for battery, false imprisonment, and making terroristic threats against his own son ... KRS has learned.

According to the charging documents -- obtained by KRS -- Jeezy got into a fight with his son in a bathroom and he threw his son into the glass shower door, causing the son to hit his head.  Then Jeezy allegedly punched him in the face, dragged him into the bedroom, threw him on the bed and pummeled him. 

According to the incident report, Jeezy's son attempted to escape but the rapper's bodyguard blocked the stairwell.

WAEC Exam ‘Cheaters’ Return Certificates After Christ Touched Them

In what may come as a big surprise to most people, no fewer than 15 persons recently returned certificates issued to them by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Cos according to them, they had to give up the certificates because they cheated during the examination, and now as Born Again Christians, they could not live with “the sin.”

SunNews reports that some individuals approached WAEC through letters seeking restitution after confessing how they dubiously acquired their certificates when they wrote the examinations at various periods.

The Council wrote back to them, stating that what they were expected to do was to return the certificates awarded in line with the rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the examinations.

However, only a few responded, including a holder of Teachers’ Grade 11 certificate.

It was learnt that those who complied with the directive returned their certificates to various WAEC offices nationwide and the council took their case to the Nigeria Examinations Committee (NEC), which, at its 55th meeting in Lagos, cancelled the returned 15 certificates.

Stella Oduah, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation who is embroiled in a scandal of towering proportions in the ministry, faces new integrity questions as her Masters’ degree has been challenged by the United States school which supposedly awarded it. Her resume, which she presented to the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011, indicated she obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United States. But KRS has learned from the President of the college that it has never in its 125-year history had a graduate school or graduate program. Similarly, the school’s website states: “Saint Paul’s College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate [bachelor’s] degrees.”  There is no mention of graduate degrees.

Real-life ‘Spiderman,’ Climbs 1,000ft Tall Building Using His Bare Hands

This is the moment a daredevil climber scaled a 1,000ft building with his bare hands over a busy city. Alain Robert, known as the French Spiderman, clung on to Shimao Horizon Center Building for dear life in Shaoxing city, East China’s Zhejiang province. Mr Robert wore a light pink shirt and climbing trousers with a small harness as he slowly pulled his way right around the building, which measures 288 metres, on Saturday. Below, cars looked like tiny dots and views stretched right out to the horizon – but the happy chap seemed less than bothered by his precarious position. The 51-year-old has been climbing tall buildings since the age of seven, and has scaled the Empire State Building, Chicago’s Willis Tower and the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. And not one to rest for long, he embarked on Doha’s La Cigale Hotel in 2008 and Sydney’s 57-storey Lumiere skyscraper in 2010. He also scaled the 985ft Torch tower in Qatar’s capital Doha in 75 minutes without a rope or harness last year, to set a fastest time.

LAS VEGAS — A new connected bracelet from a designer behind the Harry Winston and Louis Vuitton brands keeps track of excessive sun exposure and lets you know when you've had enough.

The June bracelet — from Netatmo, known for its personal weather station monitors — is the first bracelet to measure the sun's impact. The device was launched on Sunday at the 2014 International CES show in Las Vegas.

The jewel on the wristband syncs with an iOS device and alerts users when the skin has had too much exposure to the sun. It also monitors UV intensity, tracks daily habits and advises women how to better take care of their skin. The app also calculates the maximum sun exposure for your specific skin type and reveals details about how much impact it's had throughout the day.

"Women are conscious of the need to use sun protection on vacation and sunny days, but there is a lack of awareness to protect oneself in everyday life," a company spokesperson told Mashable. "The sun rays can be strong and cause sun damage even on overcast days. This product is meant to help women know when and how to protect their skin every day from sun damage."

While fitness wristband trackers and smartwatches gain popularity in the market place, many are clunky and unattractive. But the June bracelet — by French jewelry designer Camille Toupet — is feminine and flattering, while also practical. It comes in gold, platinum and gunmetal.
